OurTownSites uses an "agile" software development methodology called "Scrum" (derived from the sport of Rugby) to build your website. It's a funny name, but a brilliant technique that enables your website to be built quickly and with a laser-like focus on delivering the most important functionality first. This means that we go straight from your basic requirements to a working prototype as quickly as possible.
The features you need are prioritized in a list called the "backlog". The highest priority features are added to the end product in iterative cycles called "sprints", which last 2-3 weeks. The goal of Scrum is to deliver a potentially shippable product at the end of each sprint.
To ensure that this goal is met, a demo is given at the end of each sprint, and feedback is taken. In this way, you are able to watch your website evolve in increments until all of the necessary features are completed. The role of the customer is crucial to our process.
When development is completed, we offer the following on-going services:
Monitoring & Reporting
- Ensure that the website remains operational at all times
- Report any service issues in a timely fashion, estimate time of fix
- Deliver monthly website usage reports via email
Maintenance & Support
- Provide a support phone # and email address that your company may use to report issues or request changes
